Technology - refined and tested

“Keystone brought a greater degree of intelligence and connection with Government policy than was evident in proposals from other suppliers and it was this, along with the look and feel of their product that helped us to decide on Keystone as our asset management solution.”

Our adoption of modern technology is tempered with caution since we do not expect to use our clients as guinea pigs. Yes, we innovate, but we don’t experiment with clients. As a Microsoft Gold Partner, we are aware of the advantages of the latest technologies but after 20 years in the IT industry, we are also very conscious of the problems which their premature adoption can create. For this reason, we take a composite approach to new technology - adopting without undue delay but not before it is proven.

Over the past couple of years we have migrated Keystone from a traditional client-server model, to a fully browser-based application, built using Microsoft's leading Silverlight development platform, delivering a rich, intuitive user interface without the requirement for ANY local software.  This reduces cost of ownership, making upgrades easy, whilst opening up the system for a wider audience, enabling you to maximise the benefits accrued from the system.

Twice yearly, we release a new version of all of the Keystone products free of charge to our clients. These bi-annual releases combine client and self driven enhancements, error and omission corrections as well as performance improvements. They bring all of our clients up to date with the latest developments and enhancements carried out during the preceding six months.  Substantial additional functionality, and technology updates are provided at no additional cost.  For example, the migration to the browser application, support for EPC's, and a ground-breaking Sustainability Modelling function have all been added without levying additional charges for our customers.

Our source code is lodged with the National Computing Centre (NCC) to further assure our clients of the safety of their investment - yet another way that Keystone looks after the interests of its clients.
